Health & Safety Awareness Training

Health and Safety

Health and safety awareness training is MANDATORY for every worker in Ontario, including performers, as of July 1, 2014 -- Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).

The Ontario Government has mandated that every worker in Ontario undergo health and safety awareness training. This training ensures that both workers and employers understand their rights and obligations under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.

The online learning module - Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps, takes 45 - 60 minutes to complete. Participants receive a "Proof of Completion" certificate upon completion of the online training. This certificate is required for all work in Ontario, as of July 1, 2014, when the regulation came into full force.

Alternatively, you can print and complete a .pdf version of the training manual HERE. The completed and signed manual serves as your proof of completion.

ACCORDING TO PROVINCIAL LAW, ALL PERFORMERS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO SUBMIT PROOF OF COMPLETION TO PRODUCTION UPON REQUEST BEFORE REPORTING TO  WORK.

Please complete either the online training module, or printed .pdf at your earliest convenience.

IMPORTANT:

The online training module does not track your progress. To get your certificate, you must complete the training in one sitting, PRINT THE CERTIFICATE BEFORE EXITING THE ONLINE TRAINING MODULE, and before closing your Internet browser.

KEEP A COPY OF THE ‘PROOF OF COMPLETION’ CERTIFICATE, OR COMPLETED MANUAL FOR YOUR OWN RECORDS. The Ministry of Labour will not store this information, or keep a record of training.

PLEASE NOTE***

The mandatory Health & Safety Awareness training is an Ontario Government initiative. It is not administered by ACTRA Toronto. If you have questions, comments or feedback about the training, please direct them HERE.
